Objective
Currently, there are no available biomarkers that predict the presence of spermatogenic foci for guiding a testicular biopsy sampling, thus enhancing azoospermic patient’s likelihood of finding viable sperm. The aim is to determine new MR image biomarkers associated with the presence of spermatozoa to be used as a non-invasive tool for localizing active foci of spermatogenesis in non-obstructive azoospermia patients.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is the first phase of a prospective study, aiming establish normalcy image parameters. Seventeen volunteers within a sperm donation program underwent testicular area MR image from June 2021 to March 2022.
