The occurence of helminth parasites in Bufo orientalis and Hyla arborea has been studied at four localities in Asir, southwest Saudi Arabia. The helminths recovered comprised the monogenean Polystoma integrrimum, the cestode Nematotaenia dispar, and the nematodes Aplectana sp., Oswaldocruzia sp., and Rhabdias bufonis. The incidence and intensity of infection with the nematodes was generally higher than with P. integrrimum and N. dispar. Factors influencing this are suggested to be connected with the life cycle patterns of these parasites.
