We show that the André–Quillen cohomology of an E_∞ simplicial algebra with arbitrary coefficients and the topological André–Quillen cohomology of an E_∞ ring spectrum with Eilenberg–MacLane coefficients may be calculated as the André–Quillen cohomology of an associated E_∞ differential graded algebra.
