The corrections are given in the erratum.] Of over 50,000 overdose deaths in the United States in 2015, 33,091 involved opioids, and the number of first time users of psychotherapeutic drugs (opioids, sedatives, tranquilizers, and stimulants) is currently on par with the number of first time marijuana users (SAMHSA, 2016). Opioid misuse takes an incalculable emotional toll on families and communities, and is estimated to currently cost employers in excess of $10 billion yearly (ASAM, 2017).
