In modern agricultural systems, looking for economic ways to enhance crop productivity and promote plant development is of priority. Since the first years of the “biotechnology era,” plant biostimulants have received considerable encouragement with the shift toward a biological and green farming system. Biostimulants, a group of substances originated from the natural plant-microbe-environment interactions, offer great potential for increase plant productivity and stress resistance by networking with plant signaling pathways, while reducing the dependence on chemical fertilizers.
