简介
This article presents a computational tool for seismic hazard assessment in subduction zones in Chile, Peru, and Ecuador, an ongoing multidisciplinary effort at CIGIDEN aimed at characterizing the intensity and likelihood of ground motion scenarios and its consequences on civil systems. The platform, developed as an object oriented MATLAB GUI, allows the integration and convergence of different seismic zonation models, standard seismic hazard methodologies like probabilistic seismic hazard assessment (PSHA) and deterministic seismic hazard assessment (DSHA). Likewise, the platform is a hub for different developments in several branches of earthquake engineering, including depuration and declustering of seismic catalogs, generation of modified spectrum compatible ground motions, characterization of faulting mechanisms, ground motion prediction equations (GMPE), site effects and development of hazard maps, among others. In addition, the epistemic uncertainty for the components of different hazard models is explicitly accounted for by the use of logic trees. The goal of this tool is to aid researchers in the implementation of PEER’s probabilistic risk equation, and engineers and designers in the selection of realistic scenarios on a project specific basis.
