Background
Surgery-the neglected stepchild of global health, remains inaccessible for 5 billion people worldwide. St. Boniface Hospital (SBH), in Southern Haiti, has grown its surgery program through three phases. As the hospital’s surgical volume increased there was a larger geographical distribution of patients.
