Scoliosis is a very common spinal deformity which affects 2–3% of the population globally and is characterized by the abnormal curvature of the spine. There key complications associated to with scoliosis are pain, bone loss, digestion issues, abnormal skeletal growth, neurotransmitter imbalances, hormonal imbalances, etc. It is also linked to several other syndromes including Marfan’s adn Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Currently, the treatment options are limited considering our limited knowledge on the pathogenesis of scoliosis and that a majority of cases are idiopathic. The treatment options include physical treatment (bracing, exercise, and surgery), pharmacotherapy (mainly includes symptom management – analgesics, anti-inflammatory, etc.), and nutraceuticals.
