Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular and neurodegeneration disorders, obesity, diabetes mellitus, osteoarthritis, and cancer are the leading causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. NCDs also deteriorate the quality of life (QOL) and increase absenteeism from work.
