简介
Some studies have suggested that asthma might be associated with sleep-disordered breathing. We analyzed the prevalence of physician-diagnosed asthma and differences in clinical characteristics in a large cohort of patients with suspected obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). A cross-sectional analysis was performed in 4929 participants of the European Sleep Apnea Cohort (ESADA) study. Patients were studied by respiratory polygraphy (PG: n= 1624, 1082 males) or full polysomnography (PSG: n= 3305, 2325 males). Multiple regression analysis in the whole sample was used to assess the independent relationship of asthma and OSA severity assessed as AHI. Significance was at p< 0.05.
