Modern agricultural practices and different anthropogenic activities are contaminating the environment. Application of nanoparticles, specifically microbial-based nanomaterials aid to maintain environmental sustainability by reducing the intensity of pollutants. Myconanotechnology is an efficient strategy for the removal of contaminants as the fungal cell wall has bioaccumulation potential. Application of myconanoparticle improves the growth of crop plants by reducing the application of toxic chemicals and by increasing metal uptake. Different nanomaterials (e.g., nanocapsules, nano-dirt repellent plastic bags, nanofibres, nanosensors, nanoclay, etc.) are differently performing to reduce the contaminants. Myconanotechnology improves agricultural ecosystem by reducing the application of toxic agrochemicals and by immobilizing the contaminants.
