Existing anticancer therapeutic modalities in clinical settings lack efficacy and fail to completely cure cancers. Clearly understandable and mechanistic approaches are inevitable to improve the efficiency of anticancer therapies. There is indestructible evidence that radioactive materials have been used in cancer therapies since 1890, but toxicities restrict their broad clinical utility. Preliminary studies explain a deeper understanding of radioactive material properties and its interaction with living organisms. Advanced characterization advocates discriminatory responses of radioactive materials to various materials invitro and in vivo models. This indicates that repurposing therapeutic strategies is indispensable.
