Artabotrys is a genus of shrubs or small trees in the well-known family Annonaceae. About 105 species were recorded with 70% distribution in Asia and 30% in Africa [1]. The essential oils, plant extracts, and isolated compounds of genus Artabotrys have always induced much interest in phytochemical investigations due to their values in traditional uses, and pharmacological drug developments–for instance, the bark of A. hexapetalus has been traditionally used to treat fever, diarrhea, inflammation, cough, asthma, bronchitis, wounds, and skin diseases [2]. The leaf oil of A. odoratissimus showed antifungal and antifumonisin efficacies, thus making it appropriate for control of mold and mycotoxin contaminations in food [3].
