Recent newspaper articles keep reminding us that women in developed countries are still exposed to discrimination and gender inequality at the workplace in a number of professional fields. Yet, global consultancies stress the “business case” for gender diversity and more specifically gender parity. Hence gender diversity through increased gender parity should be a strategic business imperative (Sanders et al., 2011). At the same time, a number of academic publications also underline the “business case” for more gender equality, for example, by highlighting women’s leadership style being better aligned with what is perceived as “good leadership” today (Eagly, 2007; Weyer 2007; Esser et al., 2018).
