AGAA bs tr ac ts taxonomic units, with the dominant phyla being Firmicutes (31.58%), Bacteroidetes (21.11%), Proteobacteria (20.96%), and Actinobacteria (6.72%), Fusobacteria (6.14%) and Other (5.17%). Negative controls demonstrated minimal DNA concentration on the brushes, confirming negligible contamination. This preliminary study shows that, in women of repro-ductive age, our transnasal OCT-guided, small-diameter cytology brush provides a taxonomic profile consistent with existing literature on the upper GI tract microbiota. These findings suggest that this device could serve as a less invasive tool for imaging and collecting small intestinal biomass in unsedated subjects, offering a promising alternative to traditional sedation-dependent methods.
