In this paper, we investigate the scope of a thing in a multiple IoT scenario. First we introduce the concept of scope in general, and we illustrate how it has been investigated and applied in social networking. Then, we define the scope of a thing in a Multi-IoT scenario, modeled as an extension of a Social Internetworking System, and we propose a formalization of scope allowing the computation of its values. Finally, we present a possible application of scope and describe some tests that we performed for evaluation purposes.
