In recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) security and privacy have been receiving growing attention among researchers in both academia and industry, resulting in various innovative IoT security and privacy solutions. While research approaches and findings may vary considerably across different studies, the consensus is that a key prerequisite for addressing IoT security and privacy issues is to build security and privacy protection into IoT devices and Smart Applications (smart apps) from the onset. To this end, the IoT Hardware Platform Security Advisor (IoT-HarPSecA) framework was proposed to foster the design and development of secure IoT devices and smart apps.
