简介
Purpose: Recent research has defined the key clinical metrics that full describe soft lens fit more efficiently. However, lens fit is known to change with time after lens insertion so the stability of these metrics over the course of the day is needed to determine the adequacy of an initial fit for prescribing the lens for a trial.
Method: Thirty subjects aged 22.9±4.9 years (10 male) were fitted with a HEMA lens (Acuvue Moist) in one eye and a silicone-hydrogel (Acuvue Oasys) in the other (selected at random). Comfort, centration, blink on upgaze, horizontal lag and push-up recovery speed were evaluated at 5 min, 10 min, 20 min and 8 h. Corneal topography in primary gaze and stitched with peripheral gaze (Medmont) and non-invasive tear break-up time was assessed at baseline.
Results: For both HEMA (r= 0.632–1.000) and silicone-hydrogel lenses (r= 0.375–0.684) lens fit 8 h after insertion was best predicted by initial lens …
