Introduction
Social and healthcare professionals are daily engaged in challenging communications and most experience a sense of being unprepared and lacking proficiency. Educational resources that provide guidance in sustaining complex communication scenarios may be a source of support. However, not all educational resources can be effective if not thoughtfully designed.
Aims
This study aimed to describe the key features of printed educational resources aimed to improve the quality of communication in clinical encounters according to the perspective of experienced social and healthcare professionals.
Methods
Fifteen professionals with different scope of practice and that worked in different care settings were engaged in three remote focus groups that were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. Inductive thematic analysis was performed.
