简介
Members of the Bacillus genus have been shown to improve plant fitness by promoting the fixation of atmospheric nitrogen, increasing the efficiency of soil nutrient uptake, and antagonistically suppressing soilborne pathogens (Smith and Goodman 1999). As a result of these beneficial attributes, plant-growth-promoting bacteria such as Pseudomonas and Bacillus spp. have been broadly adopted in agricultural production (Chen et al. 2007). Species of the bacterial genus Bacillus is ubiquitous in nature and is well known for their ecological, clinical, and industrial significance. Many strains of Bacillus spp. have been reported to promote plant growth and inhibit plant disease development (Fan et al. 2018). Obtaining a genome sequence of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens GD4a will improve our understanding of its genetic potential and application in promoting crop production in agriculture.
