Saliva represents a unique body fluid, easy and non-invasive to collect and may be useful as an alternative to blood source of genomic DNA for large scale genetic studies. In this study we evaluated three different DNA isolation methods onfour different storage conditions of samples and measured the impact on the total DNA yield and purity by spectrophotometry followed by amplification of human beta-globin gene through realtime PCR.
