Chengbin Liu, Ke Wang, Shenglian Luo,* Yanhong Tang, and Liuyun Chen methods for graphene synthesis lack control over the the film thickness and, more notably, the resulting graphene sheets are not separated by metal NPs since they are mostly located on the surface of graphene films. More recently, we have shown that GO in solution can be direct electrochemically reduced to yield graphene on an electrode surface by cyclic voltammetry.[8] Thus, onestep coelectrodeposition of graphene–metal-composite films becomes possible because both GO-and metal-reduction reactions can occur under cathodic conditions. The resulting composite exhibited layered nanostructures consisting of alternating layers of metal NPs and graphene sheets.
