There has been growing interest in advancing nanoparticle-embedded polymeric membranes and their significant utilization in wastewater treatment to address the global water pollution problem. Incorporation of nanomaterials into the membrane matrices not only enhances the physicochemical properties like hydrophilicity, mechanical and thermal stability, porosity, antifouling, and antibacterial properties of the polymers but also influences the membrane permeability, selectivity, and several contaminant removals.
