Methods: Twenty-four healthy university students (12F, 12 M, 24±2 years old), without lower limb injuries in the past 6 months, volunteered. Ankle proprioception in standing was assessed by using AMEDA. Ankle proprioception when landing was assessed by using the AIDAL, where participants were asked to do drop landings from a 10 cm-high platform to 4 predetermined slopes that created 4 ankle inversions that were the same as those used with the AMEDA (8, 10, 12, and 14). For each test, participants completed 40 trials, 10 times for each ankle inversion test slope, presented in random order. The order of testing with the AMEDA or AIDAL first was also random. Mean pairwise Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) was calculated to give each participant an ankle proprioceptive discrimination score.
Results: The mean AUC values for the AMEDA and AIDAL were 0.712±0.45 and 0.756±0.61, respectively. The …
