This article describes the usefulness of the alkaline phosphatase anti-alkaline phosphatase (APAAP) technique in the diagnosis and classification of various hematologic disorders. The APAAP technique is sensitive, reliable,and a relatively easy immunocytochemical method to perform, requiring only a modest amount of laboratory space and no expensive equipment with the exception of a light microscope.
