Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are investigated as a favorable class of porous materials with remarkable structural and chemical tunability. MOFs’ topological and fascinating structure have gained substantial attention from researchers in the chemical domain. With the fabricated design, MOFs also possess several properties like stability, porosity, tunability, and particle morphology that can also be customized for various applications. With enormous surface areas and high porosity, MOFs have also been utilized for biomedical, agricultural, and environmental applications and explored as electrochemical sensors in heavy metal detection from groundwater. Hence, this concise chapter introduces MOFs’ structure, properties, and applications in various domains.
