Objectives
Nowadays dental implants are very popular treatment method in oral rehabilitation. However sometimes they are placed not according to their direct indications. Dentists should remember that dental implants were created to restore lost teeth but not to replace them. The main two goals of present study were: a) to overview factors influencing treatment choise, sucvcess rate, short and long life results, b) to comnpare root canal treatment and dental implantation overall success rates.
Material and methods
An electronic search in MEDLINE (PubMed) Library was performed to include studies on dental implant and endodontic treatment indications and success rates. The search was restricted to English language articles, published from January 1995 to March 2012. The presentation was arranged according to literature analysis and suthor's clinical experience.
