简介
Methods: We conducted an exploratory, non-prespecified cross-sectional analysis with 167 mostly middle-aged participants from the general population in rural northwest Germany (male: n= 57; female: n= 110) for whom data were available (83% of the study population). Sleep duration was classified into short (< 7 h; SSD), intermediate (7–8 h; ISD), and long (> 8 h; LSD).
Results: Mean age was 57.3±0.8 years (mean±SEM). Mean bedtime was 22: 40, and mean sleep duration was 7.9±0.1 hours. Average mean ccIMT was 0.680±0.010 mm. There was a significant difference in mean ccIMT between subjects with SSD (0.683±0.026 mm; n= 21), ISD (0.656±0.014 mm; n= 82), and LSD (0.711±0.018 mm; n= 64; p= 0.044). But this difference was attenuated when adjusting for age and sex (p= 0.525). Similarly, bedtime was weakly associated with mean ccIMT (p= 0.001), but this was attenuated when adjusting for age …
