, Polymerase chain reaction analysis using primers designed to amplify the repeat sequences in the 4 microsatellites (SOL03, SOL08, SOL28 and SOL30) showed the presence of 5, 5, 7 and 4 alleles at the 4 loci respectively in 20 rabbits; these were shown to be inherited in Mendelian fashion. The polymorphism information content of the 4 loci was 0.70, 0.72, 0.75 and 0.69 respectively. The nucleotide sequences of the 4 loci have been submitted to GenBank (accession numbers X79189, X79217, X79216 and X79215 respectively).
