The article presents advances in tissue regeneration and in dental implant materials. The use of calcium phosphate materials in implantable devices is offered. It also offers the advances in surface texture technology, the methods for surface texturing, and the biological effect of microtextured surfaces. The importance of the qualities of titanium dioxide for a reaction with the bone and the use of hydrogen fluoride in manipulating titanium dioxide are discussed.
