简介
longer distinctly identified, the sacral promontory is generally recognized as the transition point from a radiographic perspective. Preoperatively, a tumor whose distal margin is seen approximately 15 cm or less from the anal verge by using a rigid proctoscope should typically be classified as a rectal cancer. 5 although this provides a reproducible method for defining the level of the tumor, body habitus and sex must be taken into consideration in the final assessment of location (eg, the rectum is longer in taller patients).
