The original French version appeared as "Glossaire d'épidémiologie animale" in 1991, and it now appears in an expanded and carefully edited English translation. It provides quite detailed definitions of about 1200 terms, such as case control study, discriminant analysis, normal distribution and point source epidemic. The necessary distinction is made between incidence and prevalence, and between infection and infestation (though 'invasion' is not mentioned). The choice of contagiosity instead of contagiousness may be an oversight.
