Tin dioxide (SnO2) is a significant functional material which contributes to a broad range of applications in optoelectronic, gas sensing and energy storage devices because of its high excitation binding energy (∼ 130 meV) and good chemical stability. In present work, single crystalline SnO2 bullet-shaped nanorods have been synthesized via hydrothermal growth route by using SnCl2·2H2O and N2H4·2H2O as raw materials. The morphology, crystalline structure and elemental composition were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) respectively. FESEM results have illustrated that the average size of nanorod-shape structure of SnO2 is about 100 nm.
