Molecular recognition which are driven by molecular interactions, is of great interest in drug discovery and targeted drug delivery systems since drugs exhibit their medicinal characteristics when it interacts with target biomolecules. Deoxyribose nucleic acid (DNA) is one of the primary targets for many therapeutic drugs and understanding them at the molecular level is at the forefront of active research. Bilastine (BLS) is one of the commercially available heterocyclic compounds with a benzimidazole nucleus used in the treatment of chronic urticaria and recurrent allergic rhinoconjunctivitis. Various biophysical methods have been employed for the investigation of binding interaction studies between BLS and ct-DNA.
