The work presented in this paper deals with the error analysis in estimating the orientation of a texture planar surface. Suitable texture projective equations were derived to provide a platform for separable analysis of texture images to estimate the orientation parameters. The energy distribution in the various subbands of wavelet decomposition is analyzed and quantitatively evaluated based on texture projective equations. Results are illustrated using simulated textures and real-world images. Error analysis shows that the system is sensitive to errors in parameters of the imaging setup.
