The results of the 2007 study1 showed that most involved travel to low income countries by faculty student teams for one to two week periods. Although faculty reported positive personal and professional student outcomes, formal and thorough program evaluation was often lacking. Rehabilitation activities at the international site may or may not have been ongoing. While the health and safety of the students were of concern to the faculty, there was inconsistency in efforts to ensure the teams’ protection. 1
