Reviews the book, New Directions in Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts edited by Paul Locher, Colin Martindale, and Leonid Dorfman (see record 2006-03935-000). The psychology of art and aesthetics has known giants-to name a few, Rudolf Arnheim (Gestalt psychology), Ernst Kris (psychoanalysis), Ernst Gombrich (art history), and Robert Solso (cognitive psychology). Their shadows may obscure the landscape, and so it is noteworthy to underline for the current scene in psychology new and recent efforts to understand art and aesthetics psychology. This book contributes recent research to the area.
