Design rules (Eurocodes) introduced the global numerical analysis (GNA) for stresses as a tool for the design of structures. GNA it is often used in verifying and evaluating, and in particular for comparing the results with experimental data. The paper underlines the importance of GNA for evaluating the stresses and deformations on a structure (pipe with two sleeves) with a big period of operation. The use of ANG has highlighted big differences between mechanical stresses values calculated and the experimentally determined through tensometry. This has led to the need for evaluation of geometry of structure analyzed and revaluation of mechanical stresses using GNA.
