Purpose
Cylinder liner, piston rings, and piston are the key components which contribute to the overall performance and efficiency of the IC engines. Excessive temperature and pressure inside the combustion chamber, abrasive wear on the surfaces of liner and piston are major factors which degrade the performance and efficiency of the IC engines. The abnormal function of IC engine components causes an increase in sound and vibration levels of the engine structure and degrades the overall performance. The purpose of this work is to use signal processing techniques to extract fault-related information from sound and vibration signals of the IC engine.
Methods
