The availability of increasingly sophisticated interventional equipment, with state-of-the-art detectors and advanced signal processing, has certainly improved patient care. On the other hand, the complexity of interventional procedures and the technical feasibility of sequences of images with very high spatial and contrast resolution can result in excessive radiation doses to patients and to operators as well [1],[2],[3].
