509 trum antibiotic. At 48 hours, the discomfort had disappeared, but the skin lesions had not improved (ie, there was no epithelialization). Once the sepsis was controlled, we administered treatment with infliximab at a dosage of 5 mg/kg to improve the skin lesions, as the therapy with corticosteroids had not proved effective. Previously, positivity of antinuclear antibodies and the presence of a tuberculous infection were ruled out. Reinfusions of infliximab were administered at second and sixth weeks, with complete resolution of lesions at 2 months (Fig. 1, bottom). At 1 year later, the patient is asymptomatic and has not suffered relapse of PG. PG is an important cutaneous complication during the course of IBD in which several therapeutic strategies have been used.
