Background: While alterations at the DNA level have been extensively studied in multiple myeloma (MM), the genomic changes including mutations, indels and translocations cannot yet fully explain all the biological and molecular abnormalities in MM. Recent years have shown that abnormalities at the RNA levels harbour biological importance in cancers. Our recent work published in Blood indicated that the aberrancy of the landscape in MM transcriptome has a role in disease pathogenesis. We reported that ADAR1-mediated-RNA-editing is of biological and clinical relevance in MM.
Methods: We analysed several publicly available MM datasets, including CoMMpass RNA-seq dataset from the MMRF.
