In this work, corn starch (CS) based nanocomposite film incorporated with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) + guava leaves extract (GLE) solution was successfully prepared using the casting method. Functional properties such as mechanical property, water vapor permeability, opacity, swelling index, and solubility of the nanocomposite films enriched with varied content of AgNPs + GLE solution (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% v/v) were evaluated and compared with CS film. AgNPs + GLE solution content in the nanocomposite films improved the essential functional properties as well as UV blocking capacity. FTIR spectrum presented the improved intermolecular interaction between CS matrix, AgNPs, and active compounds.
