Four-year-old bareroot Norway spruce and European beech seedlings were outplanted on planting site in the Kremnické vrchy Mts. (Central Slovakia) in spring 2010. In addition to untreated control, commercial mycorrhizal products Ectovit and Mycorrhizaroots or hydrogel Stockosorb were applied into root system of outplanted seedlings. After the second growing season, survival percentage ranged from 81 (control) to 89 (Ectovit and Stockosorb treatments) in spruce, and from 61 (Ectovit) to 79 (control and Stockosorb) in beech experiments. About 15% of survived seedlings were damaged; spruce most frequently by game browsing, while dry leading shoot was prevalent in beech. The used products had no significant effect on seedling growth.
