简介
This work pretends to discuss the formation processes of the archaeological record of the Lajeado region, middle Tocantins river, through an analysis of the lithic tecnological variability found in this region. The dating of different open air sites containing lithic artifacts in the stratigraphy allowed us to define four periods of occupation, which, although not continuosly, involve all the Holocene, with dates from de beggining of this period to the time of european contact. By the analysis of the lithic material associated with each one of these different occupations, we defined the technological pattern of their lithic assemblage, based on which we sought to investigate the aspects related to the generation of technological vari ability identified between these assemblages, trying to relate them to the process of occupation of Central Brazil.
