Hemodialysis treatment negatively change people’s daily lives, which can be minimized by improving the social determinants of health. This study aims to learn the leisure activities of individuals on hemodialysis and analyze the differences in the proportions of social determinants of health. This is a cross-sectional, census, analytical study with 1024 individuals on hemodialysis in a metropolitan region of southeastern Brazil. The most practiced domains of leisure are the idle and contemplative (41.7%), social (37.1%), and intellectual (32.5%). The population can be described as men (56.7%), aged between 30 and 59 years (51.6%), with less than eight years of schooling (51.6%), with an income of up to two minimum wages (56.2%).
