简介
The Chemistry Curriculum for grades IX through XII is based upon the principle of vertical progression routed from the basic subject of the science of 8th grade. Chemistry as an independent science is being offered by this curriculum now at this stage at the secondary level. It highlights the content, problem-solving, inquiry, process skills, and critical and analytical skills of thinking. The Chemistry curriculum offers a radical shift from the traditional curriculum (available at http://www. mofept. gov. pk). With the rapid knowledge explosion in the field of science, the role of research has been increasing especially for the subject of Chemistry. The interaction among different science subjects has been increasing over time. The requirement of knowing connected subjects has enhanced because of the numerous applications of Chemistry. The knowledge of Chemistry provides the base for all-natural science subjects. Mathematics is the basic science that is necessary for many other fields to understand. Probably, there is no subject like Mathematics that forms a joining force among the social sciences and different branches of science (Offiah, 2012). The subject of Mathematics is considered the mother of science subjects and basic source of skills and information for technological societies. It is because the concepts and principles in mathematics help learning of other science subjects (Manapure, March 2011).
