An experiment was conducted to study heterobeltiosis for grain yield and its components in postrainy season sorghum using line × tester analysis and to identify the best parentals and their hybrids suited for the postrainy season. Two cytoplasmic male sterile lines (116A and 117A) were crossed with 7 restorers (M148-138-1, M148-138-2, M148-138-3, Tandur local, RS645 × (RS71 × NL), SPV 980-2, and SPV 980-1) to produce 14 hybrids. Data were recorded for days to 50% flowering, plant height, panicle length, branches per panicle, grains per branches, test weight, and grain yield per plant. Analysis of variance showed significant differences among the cultivars. The crosses showed significant differences for all the characters except days to flower compared to the parentals indicating the presence of heterosis.
