Introduction: Non-contrast non-gated computed tomography (NCCT) is routinely performed in hospitalized Covid-19 patients to assess lung involvement. Assessment of pulmonary artery diameter (PAD) can be easily obtained from NCCT. We hypothesized that baseline PAD measurement, reflecting right ventricular strain, could be related to Covid-19 outcomes.
Methods: From the authors’ institutional Hotel Dieu de France university hospital (Beirut, Lebanon) Covid-19 hospitalized patients database, PAD was measured on baseline NCCT. Various outcomes were assessed, including hospital length of stay, ICU admission, invasive mechanical ventilation, mortality (Covid-19 related and not Covid-19 related), and post-covid functional scale (PCFS) status at discharge and 2-month follow-up.
