In the last 30 yr, photothermal PT methods have been very intensely developed and applied in many areas of natural and engineering sciences. These methods are based on the recording of certain macroscopic effects that appear as a consequence of the generation and transfer of heat in the sample due to the absorption of the incident electromagnetic radiation. 1 Hence, in order to analyze the obtained signals, a correct description of thermal transport processes is imperative.
